A GIFT OF IMMEASURABLE WORTH

One of the most rewarding things in life is when others believe in you. The story of Alumni Field is very much a story about belief. On the surface, Alumni Field, along with the new seating, press box, and scoreboard, appears to be a story about the much-needed renovation of an important infrastructure on campus. While that is true, the story is much deeper than that.

When you look past our spectacular new state-of-the-art field, you see what the field really represents: a group of passionate Mount Allison alumni who believed in Mounties’ Athletics and who shared our vision for building a program that in every way symbolizes Mount Allison’s signature quality.

The group of Mount Allison alumni who believed in us so spiritedly includes David Booth (’84), Paul Henry (’85), Peter Winters (’87), and Jeff Paikin (’84).

Add in John Burzynski (’86) as our major donor, and you have the group of all-stars who provided the advocacy, the passion, and the financial support that allowed the Alumni Field project to find legs and to ultimately become a reality in 2015. To this group of accomplished Mount Allison alumni, we wish to say thank you in the most genuine and profound way.

Every day our current generation of Mount Allison students gets to enjoy Alumni Field as a tremendous symbol of Mount Allison’s commitment to excellence. Every day Mounties Athletics and Recreation gets to take advantage of an opportunity we didn’t have before Alumni Field. And with a capacity that now exceeds 1,000 hours of play when it used to be 150, we can share this advantage with many more people on campus and with our friends in the community.

We are sincerely grateful for all of these things. But most of all, we are grateful that you believe in us, you live Mountie Pride every day, and that your passion for discovering the best of what Mount Allison Athletics can be, is just as strong as ours.
