The role of the custodial services department is to provide an aesthetically pleasing, clean, safe, and healthy environment that is responsive to the needs of the Mount Allison community.
This service is essential to Mount Allison’s image and is noticed by all who use or visit the campus buildings.
Custodial services provides regular cleaning inside all academic and residence buildings to ensure that all facilities are appropriately cleaned for daily use. The department supports campus social and major events upon request and also ensures that classrooms and seminar rooms are unlocked as required. Custodial staffing requirements change throughout the year.
The campus custodial program consists of both regularly scheduled routines and special project assignments. Non-scheduled work will be billed to the department generating the request.
The normal hours of operation and cleaning details and frequencies are as follows:
- Academic buildings: Monday-Friday; 6 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Residence buildings: Monday-Friday; 7 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
