Our department, located in the bookstore, is the central shipping & receiving point for all incoming and outgoing Canada Post mail, courier and freight deliveries for students, faculty and staff. Our campus is a pedestrian campus with very limited access to large trucks and vans to increase safety.
Parents and families sending care packages and students expecting courier deliveries of on-line shopping packages
When a package for a student arrives on our shipping dock it is scanned with automatic MtA email notification to the addressee for pick-up. Students picking up packages at the bookstore front counter must show their student ID and give the four digit code found in the email. All packages are signed out with a signature pad for security. Just remember to clearly mark the package with the full name for quicker identification. It is that easy! Most packages are picked within the hour but if not we are happy to send reminders to the MtA email account.
University employees expecting incoming courier package and freight deliveries of goods purchased on a University account
All deliveries addressed to Mount Allison arrive on our shipping dock. Packages received in the morning will be delivered in the mail van before noon or in the freight truck run beginning at 1:30pm. Most shipments are dispersed on the day of arrival. Large or heavy orders of equipment and furniture may experience delays. We can't accept incoming personal lettermail or packages - please make arrangements with the Canada Post Office downtown or with the courier company for drop off at your civic address.
University employees sending outgoing mail and packages with a University account
University outgoing mail and small parcels will be picked up in the daily campus mail run. Addresses including the return address must be clearly marked. Shipments not picked up in the mail run must be brought to the bookstore by 2:30pm each day for processing and pickup by couriers. If the shipment is urgent please let us know. For large mailouts please give us at least three days notice so we can ensure enough postage is loaded in our postage metre. All outgoing University mail and packages are charged back to an account.
Students and University employees sending outgoing personal packages
For outgoing personal shipments we will weigh and measure your box and give you a quote. Shipments must be paid for by cash, Mountie Money, debit or credit card before sending.
