Pre-Departure Steps & Reminders
Congratulations on your admission to Mount Allison! We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to campus. Please refer to the following important pre-departure information so that you are fully prepared for your time at Mount Allison.
Apply for the immigration documents you need to enter and study in Canada.
Pay your Mount A registration deposit. Students must first pay this deposit before they are able to register for courses or apply for residence.
For information on how to transfer funds internationally, please visit the peerTransfer website. peerTransfer is an online international payment system, which provides secure online payment services for international students. Please visit the registrar’s office website for a description of all fee payment options.
It is important to register for your classes early to ensure that you get the classes you want! Online registration for first year students opens in April. Register for courses through your online Connect@MTA account. If you have questions about selecting courses, visit the academic advising page.
Housing / residence
Consider your housing options. Nearly 90 percent of first-year students live in residence. Once you have paid your registration deposit, you can apply for residence through your Connect@MTA account. Once you have applied for residence, a residence deposit is due in early June. Residence rooms begin to be assigned after this date.
Your MTA email account
Throughout the summer you will receive important information and updates from Mount Allison University staff through your Mount A e-mail account. Be sure to check your MTA account regularly!
Understand your health coverage. Mount Allison requires that all students have basic health insurance for the duration of their studies. Full-time international students are automatically enrolled in the student union’s medical and extended health and dental insurance plans. Visit the MASU website to learn more.
Register for Mount Allison's International Orientation, which will help you make a smooth (and fun!) transition to university life in Canada.
