Welcome to the Mount Allison Writing Resource Centre!

Writing Resource Centre (WRC) tutors are available to help with writing in all subject areas, and at all stages of the writing process. All students are encouraged to visit the WRC for writing support in their courses, and for any other projects they are working on - class presentations, cover letters, scholarship applications, etc.

In collaboration with the International Centre, the WRC offers services specific to students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL). Professional EAL tutors are available to help students improve their English language academic writing. An appointment can be booked directly through the WRC moodle page.

WRC appointments are now booked online through Moodle! Simply log on to Moodle, and click on "Academic Support." From there, look for "Mount Allison Writing Resource Centre" near the bottom of the page. Click on today's date to see a list of available appointments.

Sign-up opens each day at 8:30 a.m. During high-traffic periods, appointments can fill up very quickly, so be sure to sign up early. We are located in the R.P. Bell Library, room M-12, just off the main library lobby.

Writing Resources

In addition to writing support, the WRC has helpful materials to help students with citation styles, writing norms across departments, and the components of various paper types.

  • The most common citation styles include  ChicagoMLA , and  APA . Know which one your professor or department requires before you start writing.
