Writing Assistance and Proofreading

Offered as an accommodation to support and enable students with diagnosed learning disabilities to communicate their ideas adequately in written format.

Procedure for Receiving Test Accommodations

All tests, midterms, or final examinations are written at the Meighen Centre and supervised by Meighen Centre staff. Students will write the same test, on the same day, at the same time, as the rest of their class. The only difference is that they will write it at the Meighen Centre.

To write any tests, midterms, or final examinations at the Meighen Centre students must:

1. Go to the Meighen Centre, and while there fill out the Test Authorization Form. Have a Meighen Centre staff person sign the form while you are there.

2. Make an appointment to see your professor at his/her office. Be on time for the meeting.

3. Briefly explain your learning disability to your professor and ask him/her to sign the Test Authorization Form. Have your professor sign the Test Authorization Form well in advance of the test or examination.

4. Leave one copy of the Test Authorization Form with your professor.

5. Return the second copy of the Test Authorization Form to the Meighen Centre.

6. If your professor needs more information ask him to call the Meighen Centre at 364-2527 or 364-2604

Return the completed Test Authorization Form to the Meighen Centre.
