Residence Buildings

 

We will do our utmost to meet these service expectations, however, weather conditions, floods and sick time may cause temporary disruptions to your custodial service.

Special Note: Due to their size and location, Satellite Houses have different schedules and services then those listed below. For more specific information, please contact your Don.

Washrooms:

Daily - general cleaning, garbage removal
Daily - Shower walls, floors and bath tubs wiped down with a germicidal
Twice weekly - floors mopped
Weekly - High dusting
Weekly - Shower walls, floors and bath tubs scrubbed weekly with an acid cleaner and shower curtains washed

Entrances:

Daily general cleaning (Glass, garbage, vacuuming, mopping)
Halls: Daily garbage removal
Twice weekly - Floors dust mopped and mopped or carpets vacuumed
Weekly - Floors burnished once a week.
Weekly - General cleaning

Lounges:

Daily - garbage removal and general pickup
Weekly - dusting, vacuuming and mopping.

Kitchenettes:

Daily - garbage removal and general pick up
Weekly - cleaned

Windows , walls (public areas):

Annual house cleaning is done during the month of April with student rooms being done over the summer months

Recycling:

The University has gone to a wet/dry system of sorting waste. All student rooms are supplied with a wet caddie and a waste can for dry waste. The caddie is for any food waste and the blue can is for dry recyclable waste. Your cans can be emptied into the respective waste cans in the student closets or corridors.

Stairwells:

Twice weekly - Swept and mopped
Twice monthly - Back steps swept and mopped
Hard Surface refinishing: Annually - Hallways, Entrances, Student Rooms
Carpet Shampooing: Annually
