Federal & Provincial Loans

Each Canadian province and territory administers a student loan program. In order to qualify for a Federal or Provincial student loan, students must apply to their home province for funding. To be eligible, applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents. Additionally, applicants must be a resident of a province or territory that issues Canada Student Loans and have lived there for the past 12 consecutive months excluding full-time attendance at a post-secondary institution. All government student loan applications are assessed based on financial need.

Bank Loans

While bank loans are a convenient alternative, make sure you investigate the details of applying for and repaying a bank loan before you consider this option.

Other Loan Options
There are many other types of loans that you may qualify for. You may wish to research them thoroughly to find the one that best meets your needs.

Remember to seek the loan with the lowest percentage rate charged for the term of the loan.
