The
Paul Paré Medal recognises contributions of outstanding quality
that demonstrate a balanced approach to teaching, research/creative
performance, scholarship, service, and outreach. |

a. Eligibility:
all full-time, tenured faculty members.
b. Award: one award of $5000 |

| 2. |
The
Paul Paré Excellence Awards recognise outstanding faculty research,
scholarship and creative performance, provided that these activities
do not compromise excellence in teaching and service. |

a. Eligibility:
all full-time faculty members
b. Award: up to nine awards of $2,500 |

| 3. |
Awards
are made on the basis of letters of nomination and support, and additional
materials submitted by the nominee (including a current CV). A call
for nominations will be issued annually in the fall, with nominations
due by 15 January each year. |

| 4. |
Faculty
members on sabbatical are eligible to be nominated. Previous recipients
of Awards are eligible for re-nomination, although awards will normally
not be given in consecutive years. |

| 5. |
Nominations
will be adjudicated by a Committee constituted as follows: |

Provost
and Vice-President, Academic and Research (as Chair)
One Academic Dean
One Paré winner from the previous year, normally the Medal
winner
One member of the Research and Creative Activities Committee
One member of the Teaching and Learning Committee |

number of awards may vary from year to year as a consequence of endowment
fund returns and/or the number of nominations received. |
