This
policy and the accompanying appendix have been developed in response to
concerns associated with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). In
conjunction with the release of this policy, Mount Allison University
will also seek to provide resources on SARS to the University and surrounding
community as a means of enabling individuals to become better informed
of precautions that can be taken, statistics, and medical information.
Regions
of concern indicated in this policy are based on the classification
of regions by Health Canada. As these regions can change constantly,
it is best to refer to Health Canada's Website for up to date classification:
http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/english/protection/warnings/sars/sars_travel.html.
Similarly,
this policy will be updated as concerns surrounding SARS evolve and
policies and procedures of Health Organizations alter as necessary.
