Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to meet the requirements of section 41 of New Brunswick’s Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act concerning the retention of personal information that the University uses to make decisions that directly affect individuals

POLICY

All departments shall retain any personal information about an individual that is used to make a decision that directly affects that individual for a reasonable period of time so that the individual has a reasonable opportunity to obtain access to that information pursuant to the Act. This policy does not prevent departments from retaining such information for longer periods of time for other reasons.
