| 1 - POLICY | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There
are a number of scholars outside Mount Allison University whose expertise
and interests are such that there may be mutual benefit in a formal association
between the University and those individuals. Such scholars include but
are not limited to retired scholars from universities, private scholars,
researchers employed with federal agencies such as Agriculture Canada, Fisheries
and Oceans, Environment Canada and others.
While it is entirely appropriate that informal relationships be developed between individual faculty members and such scholars and their organizations, there might also be merit in recognizing some of these relationships with individual scholars in a more formal way through their appointment as Adjunct Professors. The University, therefore, is prepared to consider appointing such individuals as Adjunct Professors, provided they are recommended for such an appointment by the appropriate academic dean on the advice of the department concerned. |
