1 - POLICY
1.1 Course Outlines and Final Exams
Heads and Deans are encouraged to have a more "hands on" involvement with courses and programs. Course outlines will therefore be approved by the appropriate Department Head and Dean. The appropriate Department Head or designate must approve final examinations of all instructors who are not regular faculty members at Mount Allison and convey their approval to the appropriate Dean.

1.2 Course Instructors
Instructors will normally be identified and approved at all levels ten (10) weeks prior to the beginning of the course. Approval required by: Director of Continuing Education, Department Head, Dean and Vice-President (Academic & Research).

1.3 Enrolment in a Course
Full time students registered at the Sackville campus will not normally be permitted to enroll in fall and winter courses within the usual 30 credits through either correspondence or in Moncton, Miramichi or other sites if so established. Exceptions must be approved by a Dean. A typical exception would be a course that is required for a degree program and cannot be taken because of a timetable conflict, non-traditional students, or students who can access a remote site more easily.

1.4 Examination Deferrals
All deferrals in correspondence courses for full time students or students who subsequently register as full time students will require permission of a Dean. Permission to continue with a course into the fall or winter session will be granted only under exceptional circumstances consistent with regulation 6.49 which permits a student to write a deferred final examination as a result of illness or for compassionate reasons
