1 - BACKGROUND

Under the provisions of the By-Laws of the Board of Regents, the Board or its Executive Committee may by resolution, from time to time, appoint a person or persons to act on behalf of the University in the performance of the following:

  • the execution or endorsement for deposit to the credit of the University the following instruments: cheques, promissory notes, acceptances, bills of exchange, and orders for payment of money and the like;
  • the execution of contracts or documents or instruments in writing on behalf of the University.

2 - CURRENT SIGNING OFFICERS

Effective immediately the signing officers of the University are designated as follows:

Group A Signing Officers

  • The Chair of the Board of Regents
  • The Chair of the Executive Committee of the Board of Regents
  • The Vice-Chair of the Board of Regents
  • The Chair of Finance and Administration Committee
  • The President
  • The Vice-President (Academic and Research)
  • The Vice-President (Finance and Administration)

Group B Signing Officers

  • The Controller
  • The Secretary to the Board of Regents
  • The Budget Manager

Any two members of Group A acting together or any one member of Group A acting jointly with any one member of Group B are authorized to sign in the name of the University for financial transactions and/or contractual agreements.
