Mount Allison’s
strong and active scholarship program is designed to attract top
applicants who will not only benefit from the special living and
learning environment that Mount A provides, but will also contribute
to and enhance the university community. Entrance Scholarships are
not only based on marks. Extracurricular and community involvement
are also considered by our admissions team, so be sure to tell us
as much about yourself as you like.
Guaranteed Scholarships
With an 80% calculated admission average or equivalent, and meeting
all deadlines, you will be offered a minimum of $500. Scholarship
offers then range up to $12,000, and are renewable over your four
years here.
Be sure to submit your completed application before March 15 and you will be considered automatically for all scholarships except the Bell Scholarship. It requires a separate application because it’s so big!
Bell Scholarships

Since 2002, the Bell Scholarship has been celebrating students who have demonstrated strong academic ability, leadership potential, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, work experience, and good citizenship.
You may apply for one of six Bell Scholarships of $12,000 and one of six Bell Achievement Awards (aka Mini-Bells) of $9,000, all renewable over four years.
In order to be considered for this prestigious award, you must submit a separate application.

Confederation Scholarships
The Mount Allison Confederation Scholarships are some of the newest and are among the top scholarships Mount A offers. The Confederation Scholarships are unique in that they celebrate top applicants from each Canadian province and territory, as well as top international applicants who not only have high academic records, but who also display a commitment to good citizenship and community outreach.
The Mount Allison Confederation Scholarships are full-tuition entrance scholarships available to new students across Canada and are renewable at $5,000 annually over four years.
- One top student from each Canadian province and one from the territories will be selected.
- Two scholarships are available for students from each Maritime province.
- Two additional scholarships are offered to International Baccalaureate program graduates.
- Two scholarships for domestic tuition fees are offered to international students.
Leta G. Hill Scholarship
The Leta G. Hill Scholarship was established by Charles Hill in loving memory of his wife, Leta. The award is valued at $40,000 and is paid in four annual installments of $10,000.
The scholarship is awarded to a student from Nova Scotia, with preference to students in Colchester County or East Hants County, who have demonstrated financial need and declare the intent to study medicine.

Herbert S. Sharp Scholarship
These scholarships were established by Herbert S. Sharp, Class of 1890 at Mount Allison, to be awarded to young men and women who were born in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island, who are protestant, with preference given to members of the United Church of Canada and to applicants from Prince Edward Island. Recipients must declare that they will abstain from the use of tobacco in any form.
There is a strong financial need component to this award and students must have a recommendation from their minister. These $2,000 scholarships are renewable for each year of study if the student maintains a GPA of 3.3 on a full course load.
