Of course, if you still haven’t made your final decision or paid your deposits, we encourage you to contact us with any further questions, check out our Facebook group, or join us for a campus tour. Don't forget to check out these important dates to make sure they don’t pass you by.

Orientation

An action and information-packed three-day orientation is offered to all students in September. This first-year Orientation provides a useful transition period from home life to university and residence life. A wide range of social activities such as games, barbeques, and musical performances are combined with practical workshops and preparatory sessions.

International Student Orientation

Mount Allison provides an International Orientation for all new international students just prior to the University Orientation (which is for both Canadian and international students). The International Orientation allows a time where international students' unique questions and needs can be addressed.

Residence Life

Learn about dorm life, room assignments, meal plans, what you need to bring, and much more.
Every residence has a Don (or Co-Dons) to ensure things run smoothly and to provide guidance and advice to students. On each floor of residence there is also a Residence Assistant (an upper-year student) to assist the Dons. In addition, there are Assistant Dons in the larger residences of Campbell, Harper, and Windsor Halls.

Each residence at Mount Allison has an academic mentor who is an upper-year student trained by an Academic Counsellor. This student will give first-year students the academic advice necessary to make the successful transition to university life. Learn more at www.mta.ca/housing.

Academic Advising

There are lots of questions during your first year. What to major in, what courses to take, and is a credit the same as a course? We're here to help. Visit www.mta.ca/reghelp for assistance.

Books on Beds

We offer a special service to students to help make those first days less stressful. Books can be pre-ordered online and delivered to your residence room. If you are not living in residence, pick them up already boxed at the bookstore. Visit http://bookstore.mta.ca/SiteText.aspx?id=467 for more information.

Student Health

Mount Allison has a Wellness Centre and personal counsellors who take care of all aspects of health for young adults living away from home.

Health providers in the community, including the Sackville Memorial Hospital, dentists, optometrists, physiotherapists, and alternative health therapies can be found here. For more information, vist the Health Centre at www.mta.ca/health.
