Arrival Services
Arriving in a new country can be both exciting and confusing. Mount Allison offers a pick-up service in September for international students. Let us know, and we will arrange for you to picked up by a friendly Mount Allison representative at the airport, bus, or train station and brought to the Mount Allison campus. This service is offered through Mount Allison's International Student Services.
International Student Advisor
Mount Allison's International Student Advisor's office is located in the International Centre in the Wallace McCain Student Centre. The advisor is available to help you with arrangements for student authorizations and health plans, provides support for several University committees, and supports international student organizations and activities. Once you arrive on campus, feel free to contact the advisor for help with problems or general concerns. The international advisor can be reached by email at international_advisor@mta.ca, or by phone at (country code: 01) (506) 364-2112.
Society of All Nations (SAN)
The SAN is a social club made up of international and Canadian students. Through weekly meetings students from all countries get to know each other and share their cultures. SAN members also get to enjoy activities such as an annual trip in the Maritimes and the annual SAN banquet. As one of the campus' biggest events, members of the town and university communities come out to celebrate the food and talents of students representing countries all over the world.
Religious Concerns
All spiritual views are respected and supported at Mount Allison. The non-denominational Christian chapel, located at the centre of campus, offers a multi-faith prayer room. The chapel and prayer room are open to all students and the Chaplain is available to discuss religious or personal issues. The Town of Sackville also has a number of churches and religious/spiritual groups that you can take part in or join.
President's Advisory Committee on International Students
As part of our commitment to international students, the University created two groups comprised of staff, faculty, and students to assist on any financial and social issues that international students encounter. The committees meet regularly and advise the University President on issues affecting international students. They also coordinate financial support, raise funds for the International Student Bursary Fund, increase awareness of issues affecting international students, and promote and provide support services.
