Mount Allison has been ranked the #1 undergraduate university in the country for 14 out of the past 20 years — a record unmatched by any other university. Mount Allison has also received high marks in a number of different categories, including first place for student awards and library holdings and second place in the reputational survey, awards per full-time faculty, and library expenses. The Globe and Mail Report Card
Mount Allison earned high marks in the 2011 Globe and Mail University Report Card, based on the opinions of 35,000 Canadian undergraduate students.
The University earned straight A's in the key categories of “quality of education,” “student-faculty interaction,” “class size,” and “atmosphere.” It received A- for “most satisfied students,” “quality of teaching,” and its “environmental commitment.” Mount Allison also received an A- for its “buildings and facilities,” the highest grade awarded in that category.
The NSSE Survey
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) — administered to thousands of students across North America, showed that Mount Allison is ranked first in student-faculty interaction and among the top in level of academic challenge, enriching educational experience, and student satisfaction.
Rhodes Scholars
The University has also produced 49 Rhodes Scholars — for the past two years and eight times in the last ten years. Our 48th recipient, Susan Humphrey from Campbellton, NB, is currently working towards her Master’s of Philosophy in Comparative Politics at Oxford. Fourth-year international relations student Kelly O’Connor from Kelowna, BC will head to England’s University of Oxford next fall to pursue her Master’s in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies.
