Atlantic Universities and Colleges Technology Conference
Sackville, New Brunswick
Please note: Early bird registration will end Friday, May 13, 2016
March 16, 2016
The Atlantic Universities and Colleges Technology Conference (AUCTC) is an annual meeting of IT professionals from Atlantic Canada’s post-secondary institutions. Mount Allison University is pleased to be hosting this year from June 7th to the 9th in Sackville, NB.
This year’s theme is "Advancing Computing Excellence." In keeping with our theme’s acronym (ACE), games of Chase the Ace will be smattered throughout the conference with an opportunity to win some great prizes.
Participants in AUCTC are information technology professionals from Atlantic Canada’s universities and colleges. This includes directors, managers, and employees within the IT departments at each institution. We typically expect between 100 and 150 participants.
There are many reasons why the AUCTC takes place and is such a success. When participants come to the AUCTC, they have the opportunity to share experiences and exchange knowledge of the best practices on information and communication technologies. It also promotes networking opportunities, inter-institutional relationships, and collaboration between institutions. This year, we have some great keynote speakers. Stephen Downes will be speaking on education for the future while for a change of pace, Layla Rahmeh will be bringing a social perspective on being a Syrian refugee to Canada. In the end, the AUCTC is a great opportunity to bring the Atlantic Canada post secondary IT communities together to share their expertise to advance computing excellence throughout the Atlantic region
