The Challenge is on within universities and between them. In January and February, residences at various campus across Atlantic Canada will work to reduce their energy consumption by doing things such as turning off the lights, hanging clothes to dry, etc. Having taken place at Mount A for the past 3 years, we decided it is time to spread the word... and get some competition going between schools!
Having received a grant from the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund, the EcoAction group at Mount Allison University (Mount A) is spreading this idea to other campuses. A competition will take place from January 23 to February 6, 2012 on each campus with an overall competition between universities to see who can reduce the greatest energy use, keeping to energy saving tactics which can be used over a lifetime, not just for a day or week or two.
