3101 INTERMEDIATE DRAWING I
This course emphasizes variety of traditional and non-traditional media used drawing. It is required of all students in the BFA programme.
3111 INTERMEDIATE DRAWING II
This course emphasizes individual direction and style in drawing, using a variety of traditional and non-traditional media.
These courses will offer the opportunity to integrate various media with which the student is already familiar. They will also introduce technical skills and a conceptual framework to facilitate this investigation. Performance and installation may be components of the course. Either or both courses may be taken for credit.
3201 INTERMEDIATE PRINTMAKING I
3211 INTERMEDIATE PRINTMAKING II
These courses survey traditional and non-traditional printmaking for students with a background in printmaking. Either or both courses may be taken for credit.
Note: Fine Arts 3201 and 3211 are offered each year. Students may take Either or both courses.
3301 INTERMEDIATE PAINTING I
An introduction to expressive and contemporary approaches to painting from figurative and non-figurative sources, using various painting and mixed media. Consideration will be given to contemporary artists and to the socio-historic context of painting.
3311 INTERMEDIATE PAINTING II
This course continues the study of figurative and non-figurative painting, using various painting and mixed media. Consideration will be given to contemporary artists and to the cultural context of painting.
3401 INTERMEDIATE SCULPTURE I
This course emphasizes contemporary attitudes, theory, and non-traditional approaches to sculpture.
3411 INTERMEDIATE SCULPTURE II
This course emphasizes student initiated work which combines and/or extends approaches from previous courses and which lead into the fourth year tutorial programme.
3501 INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY I - THE VIEW CAMERA
All aspects of large format photography will be covered, including formats up to 8" x 10". Discussions will include historical and contemporary work, as well as regular critiques.
3511 INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY II - COLOUR AND PHOTOFABRICATION
This course introduces colour printing from negatives using the RA-4 printing process, and a variety of non-silver and alternate photographic processes. The course will emphasize the individual concerns of each student.
3601 INTERMEDIATE OPEN MEDIA I

3701 THIRD YEAR SEMINAR IN FINE ARTS
A seminar course on contemporary topics in Fine Arts, taught in the second term of each year. Students will lead seminars on chosen topics and produce research papers. The course is required of all third year B.F.A. students.
4701 ADVANCED SEMINAR IN FINE ARTS
An advanced seminar on contemporary topics in Fine Arts, taught in the first term of each year. Students will lead seminars on chosen topics and produce research papers. The course is required of all fourth year B.F.A. students.
4801, 4811, 4821, 4831, 4841, 4851 ADVANCED STUDIO I TO VI
Students will take several (normally three per term or six over all), of these tutorial courses in their final year. Courses are arranged with one or more faculty members on an individual basis. Students in fourth year must have more than one tutor. The courses are designed to meet students needs and may be in a single medium or in various media.
