MOUNT ALLISON SET TO HOST CCAA NATIONAL BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS FEB. 28 - Mar. 1
Mount Allison University is now in its final preparation for
hosting the Canadian Colleges’ Athletic Association (CCAA) badminton
championships from Feb. 28 – March 1. McCormack gymnasium, at the Mount A
Athletic Centre will be the site for some remarkable racquet action as six of
Canada’s top college/university teams go head-to-head for badminton supremacy.

The participating teams will be the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC),
the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), the Atlantic Colleges Athletic
Association (ACAA), and the British Columbia Colleges Athletic Association
(BCCAA). The Atlantic and British Columbia conferences will have two teams
representing their regions — the ACAA will have additional representation with
a “host” team while the BCCAA will send two squads, one being the nation’s wild
card.

Round-robin action will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, following the
Opening Ceremonies, which will take place at 12 noon at McCormack Gymnasium.
Play will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday and go to 8:30 p.m. that evening.
Round-robin action will resume on Friday with matches starting in the morning
at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m. Semi-final play will begin at 2 p.m. on
Friday, and is scheduled to end at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, March 1st, the day will begin with morning matches at 8:30 a.m. and
will include playoffs for 5th place and the bronze medal. The gold and silver
matches will start at 12:30 p.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. with medal presentations.

tournament who have qualified for the national championships at Mount Allison:
