ACE MTA places in Semi-Finals!!
SACKVILLE, NB — ACE Mount Allison placed in the Semi-Finals at the ACE National ‘Edge of Opportunity’ Exposition in Toronto, early May. Now ranking among the top 16 teams in Canada, ACE MTA has been visibly recognized as one of the country’s leading teams.
ACE Mount Allison is one of over fifty unique teams of students nation-wide, whose purpose is 'to cultivate entrepreneurship as a way of thinking.’ Its members learn how free markets work in a global economy, entrepreneurship, ethics and business skills. This year alone, ACE MTA has run thirteen projects that range from micro-business operations to business ethics awareness campaigns and workshops on a First Nations reserve in Newfoundland. With twenty-four members, over 1,650 hours have been volunteered, $13,185 has been generated, more than 20 partnerships have been formed with regional, national, and international businesses and organizations, and over 65,000 gross media impressions have been made.

A group of five students from Mount Allison representing ACE MTA, accompanied by their Faculty Advisor and Director of the Commerce Program, Duncan Noble, attended the Exposition. The team was comprised of members Spencer Crouch, Zoë Lavender, Abed Mostafa, Thea Shaw, and Robert Speiran.
Every year ACE holds a national exposition where teams showcase the activities and projects that they have run all year long. The exposition itself is run in a competition format where teams present to executives from many prestigious companies and are marked on a variety of criteria. This year the exposition included such individuals as the President of Wal-Mart and the CEO of Magma International.
Not only was the Exposition an invaluable opportunity for the team to be recognized for their accomplishments, but also network with top Canadian executives and recruiters, while learning form other teams and their activities. Spencer Crouch, a 2nd year Commerce student made this remark: “It was my first time to the National Exposition and I found it an extremely educational experience, it was amazing to see what some of the teams, including ourselves, had accomplished.”
ACE Mount Allison is continuing to run projects that impact both the Sackville community and the larger population of Atlantic Canada.
