Tournaments

The Eurhetorian Debate Society is involved in many activities throughout the year. Our weekly meetings involve practice debate and often some other form of social activity. One big aspect of the society is tournament attendance. Throughout the year, MTA sends teams to tournaments held at other universities to compete against other debate teams for various titles. The team also aims to host at least one tournament every year. These tournaments are often expensive, as they involve registration costs, transportation, rooming and food. For this reason, another section of the society is dedicated to fundraising efforts through a variety of means: alumni contact, university funds, and other local fundraisers. This way, we give the opportunity to participate in tournaments to as many people as possible.
