To register for SURF, complete the online form below. The abstract you submit will be included in the abstract booklet, which will be distributed to all who attend the event.

If you wish to attach a small graphic with your abstract, please send an e-mail to
surf@mta.ca with the attached file. Use the subject line "SURF - Abstract Photo". Abstracts should be kept to a maximum of 125 words.

Presenters can choose to do a ten-minute oral presentation or a poster presentation in either Science or Arts and Letters/Social Sciences. Oral presenters will have access to the projector, Powerpoint, Adobe Reader, and any other software that may be needed. If you require any special software or have any special multimedia needs for your presentation, please email us as soon as possible.

The early-bird deadline for abstract submission is

  • Friday, August 31 , 2012

The final deadline for abstract submission is

  • Friday, September 7, 2012

Even though we will do our best to accommodate everyone, there are limited numbers of time slots for oral presentations.

Submissions received by the early-bird deadline will receive our very best efforts to give you your preferred presentation type. In the event that enrollment exceeds expectations and we are unable to accommodate your presentation preference, we will contact you much in advance.

Submissions after the early-bird deadline can't be given as much priority and may be subject to the whims of fate.
