The marketing and communications office requests that you explore the methods already in place for publicizing activities before considering a request for mass e-mail access. To ensure that your message goes out on time, please contact the office with a draft of your message a minimum of one week, in advance. We will then decide if it should be sent as a mass e-mail or publicized in some other way. Computing Services will be notified when messages have been approved for distribution. They will set up your account to send that message and send you instructions for the procedure. Each approval is granted for one-time use. The communications office assists senior officials in the distribution of information regarding a University closure in the event of a storm. The communications procedure includes:
• a mass e-mail message sent to all students, faculty, and staff as soon as possible
• a message posted on the Mount Allison home page in the “Campus Beat” section
• contact with local media
Updates will be sent via the web, e-mail, and media outlets as required throughout the duration of the storm. The University encourages all students and employees to use their own judgment during inclement weather. To view the University policy on storms and other emergencies please visit:
