At the end of each academic year, Mount Allison formally recognizes the outstanding contributions of students who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically, and in their service to the campus and the community as a whole. These awards provide students with the opportunity to graduate with recognition of their outstanding service, dedication, and passion for the Mount Allison community at large.

Please note that the presentation of the Leadership Certificates, the Don Norton Memorial Award, and the Frances S. Allison awards will be made at the Graduating Students' Banquet on March 14, 2013, while the Barrit-Marshall Award and the Class of '33 Award will be presented at the MOSIAC International Banquet on March 16, 2013.

University Leadership Certificate
The University Leadership Certificate will be presented to selected graduating students for their extensive co-curricular leadership on campus, in the local Sackville community, or both, while a student at Mount Allison. Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

Don Norton Memorial Award
The Don Norton Memorial Award was provided by the class of 1942 to honour a classmate, and as a memorial to all Mount Allison University students who gave their lives in the Second World War, 1939-1945.
Donald Blair Norton, BA 1942, from Milltown, NB "while a student at Mount Allison exemplified, by his rare ability and character, those qualities of scholarship, athletics, and student government of which a university may be justly proud." He was an outstanding student, winner in numerous track and field events, President of Student Union, and a leader in various university activities.
A miniature of this Memorial is awarded annually to the graduating male student at Mount Allison University who, during his final year, makes the greatest overall contribution to university life. Fifth year students, who are condidates for degrees are eligible. Students who meet degree requirements after May Convocation are ineligible. Consideration is given to previous years' involvement in university life. Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

Frances S. Allison Award
The Frances S. Allison Award was established by Mrs. Walter C. Allison (Frances S. Allison), Ladies' College Class of 1869, to be presented annually to the senior female student who, during her years at Mount Allison, has shown outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, personality, and leadership. The award is in the form of an engraved silver plate and was first awarded in 1958.
The Frances S. Allison Award is presented to a graduating female student who represents outstanding achievement academically and in other areas, including but not limited to sports, class projects, service to the university, development of character, and leadership. Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

The Charlie Hunter Award
The Charlie Hunter Award is to be presented to a student who has shown exemplary student leadership and has demonstrated commitment to student involvement and engagement during their four years at Mount Allison University. Preference will be given to a student that has lived in residence at least one year.
The Charlie Hunter Award was established by friends and co-workers in honour of his many years as Dean of Students at Mount Allison University.
The committee will receive nominations and consider candidates for this award based on the level of leadership and university involvement. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, March 5, 2013 .
The award will be presented at the Graduation Banquet and listed on the Convocation Brochure.

Barritt-Marshall Award
This award goes to a graduating international student whose contributions to the internationalization of campus and the community have helped to promote cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 5, 2013 .

Class Of '33 Award
This award is presented annually to two returning international students. The award recognizes the students' leadership, extracurricular involvement, and commitment to promoting cross-cultural awareness and understanding. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 5 , 2013 .

President's Spirit Award
The President's Spirit Award, a joint project between Student Life and the President’s Office, is a friendly competition in which each residence on campus ‘adopts’ a Mount Allison Mountie sports team. Students within each residence are then encouraged to show support for their adopted sports teams through both traditional and non-traditional means. The criteria for the award includes attendance, contribution, and overall participation, with special consideration being given to residences that interacted with the teams beyond scheduled matches and games.
