The International Centre is home to services for and related to international students, study-abroad and exchange programs, international event planning, and Mount Allison’s in-house ESL program (MASSIE).  Staff in the International Centre are committed to fostering the growth of a more multicultural and internationally-engaged campus by planning, promoting, and coordinating events, activities, programs, and services that reflect the reality and importance of an increasingly inter-connected world.

International Advisor – Ms. Christa Maston

Christa is responsible for working with international students pre and post-arrival to ensure the transition to university life is a smooth and successful one.  She oversees International Orientation, the International Mentorship Program, and the Academic Success Program for international students who experience challenges academically. 

Christa also works with student groups, members of Mount Allison’s faculty, and municipal organizations to promote the further internationalization of campus and the community.

 


International Affairs Coordinator – Ms. Robin Walker

Robin has dual responsibility for Mount Allison’s study-abroad and exchange programs as well as Mount Allison’s in-house ESL program (MASSIE).  With respect to Mount Allison’s study-abroad and exchange programs, Robin is the first point of contact for students interested in spending a summer, a semester, or a year at one of Mount Allison’s many partner institutions around the world.  Robin is also the Coordinator of the Mount Allison Semester Studies in English (MASSIE) Program.  MASSIE began in 2000 and has been responsible for bringing to campus more than 800 mostly Japanese students for an intensive in-residence English experience in the summer, fall, and winter months.

Adam works closely with the Vice-President International & Student Affairs, the International Advisor, and the International Affairs Coordinator to develop programs, introduce services, and coordinate activities that are in keeping with the University’s mandate to “bring Mount Allison to the world, and the world to Mount Allison.” 

Adam oversees the delivery of services through the International Centre and assists with building and maintaining Mount Allison’s institutional partnerships around the world.
