The University has a strong policy in place to deal with cases of sexual harassment and sexual assault. If you have experienced sexual harassment and would like to report it or would like to know the options available to you or to a friend, Melody Petlock, the Sexual Harassment Advisor to students and staff, is available to address your concerns.

Melody is on campus two days each week in Room 118 in the Student Centre, and an appointment can be made by calling her at 364-2613. She checks her answering maching daily and responds quickly to messages.

If you have been sexually assaulted, please go to the Outpatient's department at the hospital as soon as possible (you, or a friend, can call ahead and let them know to expect you) - try not to destroy any evidence by washing or changing clothes. Or, you could go directly to the Police. If these are not options for you, you can call your Don or the Dean of Students (work 364-2255, home 536-1159), or the Fredericton Sexual Assault Crisis Line at (506) 454-0437.

The Sexual Harassment Advisor is available to advise students, faculty and staff on options on- and off-campus for resolving complaints of sexual harassment. She has copies of the University's Policy on Sexual Harassment, as does Student Life.

For on-going peronal counselling support following an incident, the Personal Counsellors are available.
