  1. Change the way you take notes: if you prefer to take notes by hand, write them on the back of one-sided print jobs. There are stacks of one sided paper available in boxes on the main floor of the university library. One sided paper can also be turned into note pads at the university Print Shop for about a dollar, to cover the cost of the glue.
  2. Get involved!: join an extracurricular group or committee to engage in discussion and action on environmental issues. See our ‘Get Involved’ page for more info.
  3. Educate yourself: take one (or more) environmentally minded courses. These are increasingly found across all disciplines, from Commerce to Anthropology to Geography.
  4. Encourage the increased use of electronic mediums for courses: continue to encourage professors to accept assignments submitted electronically. Further, encourage professors to post readings from textbooks and course packs online to reduce reliance on hard copies.
  5. Spread the word: urge your fellow students to make environmentally conscious decisions, such as throwing your used coffee cup in the appropriate garbage (rinsed out, in the blue!).
