Mount
Allison is one of Canada’s top undergraduate
universities. We are constantly striving to enhance our
students’ experiences in many ways. In order to meet the future facility
requirements of our students, faculty and staff, a Facilities Master Plan has
been developed which was approved in principle by the Board of Regents in the
fall of 2002. |
| |
|
The
Facilities Master plan was developed by Diamond
and Schmitt Architects Incorporated within
guidelines provided by the University. Mount Allison managed the two year planning
process and will oversee the implementation of the plan
by the Facilities Management Department in the coming years.
The Plan is based on: an assessment
of the University’s existing facilities, the goals
outlined in Mount Allison’s Strategic
Plan (2000), and an extensive consultation
process with students, faculty,
and staff. |

The
physical infrastructure that makes up the Mount Allison campus
is a
major, long-term investment. The
Facilities Master Plan provides guidance on how best to adapt
to the changing needs of Mount Allison's facilities, academic
programs and students over the next 20 years and beyond.
The
condition of the facilities and the space requirements
of our operations were analyzed as part of the Facilities
Master Plan. This will ensure that future maintenance and
construction work will be done in a coordinated fashion;
addressing building system problems while concurrently
meeting the evolving program needs of the university.

The
plan is a guide only, will evolve over time and will serve as
a tool to identify fund raising priorities for Mount Allison’s
facilities.
