Canadian Studies

Welcome to Mount Allison University’s Centre for Canadian Studies website.

At Mount Allison, the Centre works in close collaboration and cooperation with the academic program in Canadian Studies. Indeed, the Canadian Studies Program and the Centre for Canadian Studies share a long and proud history at the University. They were among the first of their kind in Canada.

With the establishment of the Edgar and Dorothy Davidson Chair of Canadian Studies in 1969, Mount Allison introduced an interdisciplinary program of study that coordinated teaching and research on Canada in various departments and allowed students to pursue an undergraduate degree in Canadian Studies.

Since that time, through the combined teaching and research activities of the academic Program and the Centre, Canadian Studies at Mount Allison has earned a national reputation of excellence.
