YOUR
PORTFOLIO
Provided here is information about how to prepare and submit a portfolio of artwork as part of your application for admission to the Fine Arts programme at Mount Allison University.

WHO SHOULD SUBMIT A PORTFOLIO?
Applicants for admission in the 2009 academic year for these programmes:
• Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.)
• Bachelor of Arts with a Major or Minor in Fine Arts (B.A. Major/Minor, Fine Arts)

WHY IS IT REQUESTED?
When you select artwork for members of our department to review, you are taking the opportunity to show us some of your skills, interests and ideas.

Entry into the Fine Arts programme is very competitive as only a limited number of spaces are available. All those wishing to study with us have to submit a portfolio following the steps indicated in the Fine Arts Department's website under Admission [Click here], and to apply for admission to the University (see the Admissions section of the Mount Allison website or [click here] to go to the “Admissions-Apply Now” page (http://www.mta.ca/apply/application.htm) and follow the instructions).

CAN I APPLY IN PERSON?
If you can come to visit Mount Allison, we would like to meet you! We encourage prospective students, whenever possible, to come meet Thaddeus Holownia, the Head of the Department. Contact us to arrange an appointment at 506-364-2490, finearts@mta.ca or contact Campus Tours to arrange for a general tour at campusvisit@mta.ca. Bring examples of your work if you can. Ask us about our courses and see the facilities. Talk to current students about their experience in our programme. Visit the Owens Art Gallery, Struts Gallery (an artist-run centre), and START Gallery (a student-run gallery).

Remember to apply for admission to Mount Allison University. Note that regular University entrance requirements are to be fulfilled before the application to Fine Arts.

• Information is available in the Admissions section of the Mount Allison University website
