Part-time Lecturer, B.F.A. (Mount Allison) - Printmaker, Teaches: Printmaking

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University in 1981, New Brunswick born Steeves has participated in over 80 exhibitions. His work has been exhibited in public galleries in Canada, the United States, England, Holland, Italy, Japan, Poland, Scotland, Taiwan and the Ukraine. In 1993, the hardcover book, The Bone Fields, was published in conjunction with a solo touring show at The Beaverbrook Art Gallery. From 1999 - 2001, a national tour of his solo exhibition titled Things We Put on a Hill traveled to nine institutional and public galleries across Canada. He has also completed a series of prints for a project titled Blood and Belonging: Civilization, Communities and Change. Steeves worked with author Mark Harris on a limited edition, hard cover fine art book project titled The Light That Lives In Darkness. The book included nine original etchings with letterpress text by Harris. It was released by the Gaspereau Press in June of 2004.

Steeves has won the 2007 Strathbutler Award, Canada Council and New Brunswick Arts Branch exhibition awards along with an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award. His work has been selected for representation in the Canada Council and New Brunswick Art Banks as well as other public and private collections. Currently, Steeves is working on a new series of prints titled The House as Fortress: the dichotomy of symbolic structure.
