   German 2000 Intermediate German
GERMAN 2000: Intermediate German 2003/04

Schedule: M W F 8:30- 9:30 a.m. 
plus one additional language lab session 
(to be arranged after classes have begun)

Course Description:
This course offers a thorough review of both grammar and syntax. In addition, special attention will be paid to the development of conversational skills and the acquisition of new and useful vocabulary. An introduction to literary analysis will also be made through the reading of smaller fictional texts. 
Prerequisite: GERM 1000 or permission from the Department. Students with prior knowledge/ high schools credits in German should consult the Department.

Marking Scheme:
50% Attendance, assignments, preparedness, pronunciation, short oral and written quizzes 
10% Language Lab 
40% Four one-hour written tests (two each semester)

    Test 2: December 1, 2003* 
    Test 3: February 18, 2004* 
    Test 4: April 2, 2004* 
NB: Test dates are firm.  No exceptions!
