Jazz Ensemble

Directed by Linda Pearse, Jazz Ensemble is a full-year, 1-credit course (MUSC 1649 - 4649) and credited participation is open to any student on campus. All Mount Allison students are required to register for the ensemble in order to participate. The ensemble meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 – 8:30pm, in the MYBC Band Room (Room 004). Regular sectionals will be expected outside of this rehearsal time.
Auditions
Auditions take place at the beginning of the academic year during the first week of classes in the Fall semester. Every participant must audition for the ensemble; these auditions determine whether you are accepted and your placement within the ensemble. If you are not sure that your schedule will permit the ensemble, still audition at this time.
The audition material consists of one chart for each instrument. These can be downloaded in PDF format from the links below. You may also be asked to sight read and perform scales (as listed below). Please only prepare the measures indicated.
Please contact Linda Pearse if you have any questions: lpearse@mta.ca (506)364-2585
