Dr. Jenny Ellison is the Centre for Canadian Studies’ 2011-2013 W.P. Bell Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Ellison holds a Honours B.A. in History from University of Toronto, an M.A. in Canadian Studies from Carleton, and a Ph.D. in History from York University. Dr. Ellison’s research considers how concepts of health and well-being are mobilized in social and cultural settings. She is particularly interested in the way people talk about and understand their bodies, and the relationship between health discourses/practices and the historical context in which they are undertaken.
Dr. Bart Vautour is a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow with the Centre for Canadian Studies 2011-2013. Dr. Vautour (B.A. Hons. English Literature, Guelph; M.A., Philosophy of Education, OISE/University of Toronto; M.A. and Ph.D. English Literature, Dalhousie University) is a specialist of Canadian literature. He is currently working on a monograph on Canadian writing on the Spanish civil war, pursing various projects on editing modernism in Canada, and planning a conference on public poetics to take place at Mount Allison 20-23 September 2012.
