Peter Higham is the Music Librarian at Mount Allison University where he is responsible for the operations of the Alfred Whitehead Music Library, including collection development, music reference and research assistance, Music Library web site content, systems and procedures, and bibliographic control. He obtained his Master of Library Science (M.L.S.) degree from the University of British Columbia in 1982. His thesis for his Master of Music degree from the University of Alberta was entitled “Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Works for Guitar”. Peter Higham has been an active member of the Canadian Association of Music Libraries, serving on its Committees and Board, and as its President 2007 to 2009. He has belonged to the Atlantic Provinces Library Association since 1983 and is a founding member of the Association of Professional Librarians of New Brunswick. Peter Higham was instrumental in the establishment of Atlantic Regional Office of the Canadian Music Centre in Sackville, served as a member of the National Board of Directors from 1994 to 2004, and for many years as the Atlantic Regional Council Chair. Peter Higham is also the part-time instructor of guitar in the Department of Music.
