BIOLOGY 2101 - INTRODUCTION TO ECOLOGY

Course Description

This course will introduce students to some basic concepts of ecology, a major division of biology. With its roots in natural history and close associations with the fields of physiology, genetics, evolution, and behaviour, ecology is the scientific study of the relationships between organisms and their physical, chemical, and biotic environments. In this course, we will specifically focus on those interactions that influence the distribution and abundance of an individual, a population of individuals of the same species, and a community of populations.
