What to do |
Early October |
|
Go to the information session offered by the Department and fill
out the forms indicating some interest in the program. (There's
no obligation to you - it gives us some rough idea of the pool
of potential candidates.) |
Around October of your third year
|
|
Visit any faculty member with whom you may be interested in working
and discuss your plans. You should talk to more than one faculty
member. |
Before the end of the Fall term of
your third year
|
|
Confirm with the faculty member with whom you wish to work that
you are indeed interested and tell others that you may have visited
of your decision. |
By
early January of the winter term, we will make decisions
about who we will have working with us in the following
year. |
End of January |
|
Deadline for those students eligible to apply
for summer scholarship support to do so. You will do this in consultation
with your supervisor. |
Mid to late February |
|
You will find out the results of the summer scholarship
competition. |
May 1 |
|
Students who have received financial support,
either through a scholarship or some other arrangement with their
supervisor, will start their research. |
September |
|
Students who were not working during the summer
will start their research. All students must register for Biology
4990 and Biology
4903. |
