Research Interests

My research is concerned with the synthesis of small molecules with novel molecular scaffolds that have potential as bioactive agents in the treatment of disease. Modern methods of synthesis are routinely employed, including solid phase and microwave assisted techniques. As the synthetic routes can be novel, isotopic labelling and spectroscopic methods of analysis constitute a part of the research effort.

Currently, thermodynamically stable Meisenheimer and Janovsky complexes and protease-resistant peptoids are being pursued and tested in cell culture tests.
