Research interests:

In general, my research interests involve the self. Specifically, I am interested in the beliefs and feelings people have about themselves. One line of research concerns linking aspects of the self (e.g., self-complexity, self-discrepancies) with the Big 5 personality traits. For example, we found that people who score high on neuroticism are likely to be more self-discrepant than people who score low on neuroticism. Moreover, those who score high on neuroticism are vulnerable to the negative consequences of being discrepant. Other research interests include body dissatisfaction and self-evaluations, risk taking behaviours, and the scholarship of teaching.
