Today’s most pressing environmental challenges – climate change, marine pollution & over-fishing, biodiversity loss – transcend individual nation-state borders. The ever-expanding forces of globalization exacerbate many of these challenges, yet also offer unprecedented opportunities for scientific advancement, popular mobilization and political engagement. This course explores the different dimensions of international environmental affairs, with a particular focus on the interactions between environmental science, non-government activism, multinational business, and multi-lateral governance.
This website is intended to serve as general, user-friendly resource for the course. It includes links to all lecture materials, an abbreviated list of selected library information sources at Mount Allison University, as well as numerous links to key academic journal sites and other relevant web-resources (international institutions, environmental agreements, etc.).
