Research in Progress

a. I am continuing to conduct an environmental monitoring project at Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick. I am also participating in a major study of the possible impacts of sea-level rise on the Northumberland Strait coast of New Brunswick and Cape Jourimain is one of the test sites for this study.

b. I am working on various saltmarsh and mudflat projects in the Cumberland Basin, New Brunswick in collaboration with Dr. D. van Proosdij (Saint Mary's University, NS, Canada) and Dr. R. Davidson-Arnott (University of Guelph, ON, Canada). Several papers related to this project have recently been published and several more are in preparation by various co-authors.

c. I am continuing to collaborate with Dr. S. Wolfe (Geological Survey of Canada, ON, Canada) in assessing climate change and drought impacts on the Canadian prairies. Two papers related to this project have recently been published in Géographie physique et Quaternaire and a new paper is in preparation.

d. I am continuing to work on a project in collaboration with Dr. R. Davidson-Arnott (University of Guelph, ON, Canada), Dr. I. Walker (University of Victoria, BC, Canada), and Dr. P. Hesp (Louisiana State University, LA, USA) on assessing seasonal variations in the beach and foredune system at Greenwich Dunes, Prince Edward Island National Park. We conducted a major aeolian geomorphology experiment with Dr. B.O. Bauer (UBC Okanagan, BC, Canada) and Dr. S.L. Namikas (Louisiana State University, LA, USA) in October, 2004.

e. I am working with Ducks Unlimited Canada and other partners on a major marsh restoration project in Musquash, NB.
