“When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.”
-- Dom Helder Camara

The ESPRIT Lab seeks to engage students  in the exchange of ideas and the development of creative and innovative solutions to the policy challenges of today. It seeks to do this through its key activities: research, education and citizen engagement.

Research

• Initiating new research on emerging issues and responding to external research needs
• Conducting research on social policy issues such as inequality.

Education

•  Sharing new ideas and practices to enhance the understanding and implementation of public policy
•  Contributing to the training and development of future private and public sector policy practitioners

Citizen Engagement

• Creating new means for students to participate in developing public policy and finding new solutions together
• Developing academic and community outreach opportunities
