The successful candidate should be a creative and team-oriented professional who will lead a department of nine paraprofessional staff with a vision to optimize the acquisition of materials and the creation of cataloguing records, and to find new ways to use metadata to make the libraries' collections more accessible to users. As a member of the team of librarians, the successful applicant will also participate in collection development and the delivery of reference services and library instruction. Required Qualifications: " ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent degree; minimum three years technical services experience in an academic library. " Evidence of successful collaboration and leadership responsibilities. " Experience with AACRII cataloguing standards, LC classification, and MARC21 format including basic knowledge of RDA. " Experience managing a materials budget and electronic resource licence agreements. " Knowledge of trends in the practice and scholarship of technical services and digital libraries with the ability to effectively communicate new developments in the field to library and non-library staff. The Fine Arts Department offers a studio based BFA degree and a BA degree with a major or minor in studio arts and art history. Teaching responsibilities will include a Survey of World Art from the First Peoples to the Present (FINH 2001 and 2011), Nineteenth Century Art (FINH 3141 and 3241), Advanced Seminar in Art History (FINH 4091), and Independent Studies in Art History. to announce the Crake Doctoral Fellowship in Classics for the academic
year 2012-2013. The holder will be asked to teach one course in each of the Fall and Winter terms, give a public lecture, and be in Sackville from September to the end of April. In 2012-2013 the holder of the Crake Fellowship will receive $28,000 (CDN), with an allowance of up to $4,500 (CDN) to cover moving and other research-associated expenses. The Crake Drama Fellow will contribute to a non-conservatory inter-disciplinary program in Drama Studies that supports an extensive season of theatrical production in Canada's top-ranked undergraduate university. The Fellow, an artist-scholar with a minimum qualification of an MFA or equivalent experience, will be asked to supervise student projects, direct a production, contribute to program course-offerings in areas of the candidate's expertise and interest; and to provide leadership in other ways appropriate to her/his qualifications and experience while serving as part of a team of theatre professionals and academics.
