| Purdy Crawford Staff Award of Excellence |
|
Purdy Crawford, proud Allisonian, respected businessman, Chancellor Emeritus, and member of Mount Allison’s National Advisory Council is a tremendous believer in Mount Allison University. He has supported Mount Allison since his graduation in 1952 by volunteering his time and by giving generously to this university. In 2007,he established an exciting award for deserving staff members. The Purdy Crawford Staff Award of Excellence recognizes significant contributions to the University by staff members of Mount Allison who, in their work, have gone beyond the call of duty. One award will be made each year to an individual or a group/team and, in exceptional circumstances, more than one award may be given. The award includes a $1,000 honorarium and a framed certificate. Presentations of the award will be made at the annual Employee Recognition Reception. Each person who is nominated but who does not receive an award will receive a letter of recognition. All non-faculty employees with continuing appointments are eligible for this award. Nominated candidates will have displayed exceptional service to their department or to the University community in any number of possible ways: by enhancing the reputation of the University, by providing exemplary service and a willingness to go far beyond the job to assist other staff, faculty, students, or other members of the University community, or by demonstrating innovation in the provision of services through efficiency, time, or cost savings. Nominations of individuals or teams may be submitted in writing and sent via campus mail to the Director of Human Resources by March 16, 2012. The nomination should provide evidence (to a maximum of two pages or on a nomination form) to say why the nominee is deserving of the award. Each nomination must include the names of two references. You may download a nomination form, or you may request one by calling Human Resources at extension 2280. I encourage you to look around you and think about nominating someone you know for this exciting award. Thank you for supporting this initiative. Robert Campbell |
