7th Annual Student Affairs Hiking Trip to Mt. Katahdin
October 9-10, 2016

For the past seven years, Student Affairs has been taking students to Mt. Katahdin, the highest mountain in Maine (USA) and the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. We bus down on the Sunday, hike on the Monday, and return to Sackville later the same night. It's two short days but one very big adventure.

To learn more about this year's trip, please attend the information session on Thursday, September 29 @ 5pm (Wu Auditorium).

Sign-up & payment:
Sign-up begins at 8am on Friday, September 30. You can register in person at the International Centre or online via the following Eventbrite link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/7th-annual-student-affairs-mt-katahdin-hike-tickets-28265492850. Registrations will be date + time-stamped and processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your registration will not be confirmed until full payment is received. NOTE: there is $12.70 CAD service charge for using Eventbrite. This is an Eventbrite charge not a Mount Allison charge and is the cost of processing payment by credit card. To avoid this service charge, please pay in person at the International Centre (cash or cheque: Mount Allison University).

Cost:
The trip cost is $220 CAD. This includes all meals and accommodation at the New England Outdoor Center. It also includes transportation to/from Baxter State Park as well as all relevant park fees. Students are responsible for any incidental snack expenses en route to/from the United States. NOTE: the trip cost has been calculated according on the basis of 40 participants. If our numbers are fewer, we may have to adjust the final price.

Entry into the United States
All participants must have the necessary documentation to enter the United States. For Canadians, this is a passport. For citizens of other countries, you may be required to present a visa or (for visa-waiver countries) pay a $6 USD entry charge.

Insurance
If you are covered by the MASU insurance plan, you do not need additional insurance to enter the United States. If you are not covered by the MASU insurance plan, please indicate at the time of registration that you wish to purchase the $20 Student Guard weekend insurance package.

Refunds
