The Student Affairs mandates are at the heart of a number of Mount Allison’s current strategic initiatives.  Specifically, two of six points in the most recent Strategic Statement (www.mta.ca/governance/ president/thestrategicstatement.pdf) are directly related:

1. Student Recruitment and Retention
2. The Extracurricular Experience – An
Integrated Approach

As Vice-President, it is my responsibility to take the lead in both of these strategic initiatives for the University, as well as leading and managing all student affairs and student life activities at Mount Allison.  I have key responsibilities in strategic enrolment management, including student retention, as well as coordinating staff, processes and activities that enhance and enrich the student experience.

Student Affairs can only accomplish its goals and objectives through a model of partnership.  It is a key mandate, therefore, that Student Affairs work with students,  other senior administrators, academic administration and with faculty to ensure even further integration between the curricular and extracurricular lives of our students.  In so doing, the Vice-President seeks to infuse the values of Mount Allison into all aspects of the planning and delivery of services to students.
