Genealogical and Family History Research |
In order to assist visiting researchers, a booklet titled Selected Sources for Genealogical Research has been compiled. Reference copies are available at the Information Desk for use within the Library. Copies for purchase may be obtained at the Library Circulation Desk or at the Archives. This booklet includes brief listings of selected standard sources in the Library to be checked when beginning a genealogical search. It does not include manuscript material held by the Mount Allison University Archives. If you wish to visit the Mount Allison University Archives, staff time and hours of reference service are limited; please call in advance for an appointment (506 364-2563). See Contact Us for more information. All research inquiries which require a written response by mail will include a $5.00 postage/handling charge. All the Archives' user records about its patrons are considered private. Therefore, the Mount Allison University Archives does not maintain a public file of names of individuals carrying out genealogical research. If you wish to exchange information with other genealogical researchers please refer to individual genealogical societies organized for this purpose. |
